About Us
The Kapunda and Light Agricultural Society Incorporated proudly presents the Kapunda and Light Agricultural Show — one of the region’s most anticipated annual events and a true celebration of country life, community spirit, and local pride.
Each year, the show brings together families, exhibitors, competitors, local businesses, schools, and visitors from across the region for a vibrant day filled with excitement, tradition, and entertainment. Set in the heart of Light Country, the Kapunda Show is where agriculture, heritage, and community come alive.
From thrilling equestrian competitions Horses in Action, Horses in Harness, Showjumping, and Hacking, to crowd favourites like the sheep dog trials, the show offers something for everyone. Our popular Livestock sections proudly showcase the quality, dedication, and passion of local exhibitors, while the much-loved Ute Muster adds colour, character, and plenty of country charm to the day.
The Kapunda Show is also a wonderful showcase of local talent and creativity. Visitors can explore displays of produce, cooking, craft, art, and community exhibits, all reflecting the skills and pride of our district. We are especially proud of the strong involvement of local schools, whose students bring enthusiasm, creativity, and community connection through their participation in exhibits, competitions, and displays.
In 2026, the show is set to be bigger and better than ever with the introduction of an exciting new live country music section. This fresh addition will bring even more energy and entertainment to the showgrounds, creating a lively atmosphere for visitors to relax, connect, and enjoy a true country show experience.
Established in 1857, the Kapunda Show has a long and proud history of celebrating the agricultural, horticultural, and community achievements of the Kapunda and Light District. Today, it continues to be a major highlight on the local calendar — a place where tradition is honoured, new attractions are embraced, and the community comes together to celebrate all that makes our region special.
Located just an hour north of Adelaide, Kapunda offers the perfect country show destination. Rich in history and surrounded by the beauty of Light Country, the town welcomes visitors to experience not only the show, but also the wider region’s heritage, landscapes, hospitality, food, and wine.
